Descriptor
A downloadable game
Do you remember roleplaying in the backyard as a kid?
That feeling of effortless, collaborative imagination where you and your friends could build a whole world in an afternoon? There were no rulebooks, no complex charts—just a story you made up as you went along.
Descriptor is a roleplaying game designed to bring that feeling back.
It’s a simple, rules-light system for people who want to tell amazing stories together, without needing a three-inch binder of rules to do it. Instead of classes and stats, your character is defined by a few evocative words called Descriptors. Instead of complex math, you only ever need to roll a single 20-sided die.
Whether you want to create a classic tale of sword and sorcery, a gritty urban fantasy, a sprawling space opera, or chilling Gothic horror, the flexible Descriptor system is a simple toolkit designed to bring your unique world to life. It's the perfect engine for telling stories about unlikely heroes, a found family, or a band adventurers trying to make their mark on the world. The game provides just enough rules to get the story started and to help you make amazing things happen, and then it gets out of your way.
So grab a d20 and a few friends, and let's get back to the backyard.

Got this game as a free copy today at a local game store when I went to drop off free copies of my own game. Very nice!
Andy and Kanyath you might like the NSR Cauldron discord if you aren’t already in it. Lots of like-minded creators there.
That's our local game store then (Boardwalk) - great to know people are taking them! Let us know what you think, and look for us in the store some time, we come by at some point each week, and may be there on Wednesday evenings some again in the near future. Thanks for the discord rec.
I mostly just pop in every once in a while to pick up a few things. Mostly a home game guy but I’ll look for you if I’m ever there on a Wednesday.
Picked up your book from our bin when we went in to refill today - thanks! Looking forward to checking out it.
that’s awesome to hear!
